Camp Layout & Infrastructure
At Awesomesauce, interaction with our fellow Black Rock City citizens is an essential part of the experience. Our camp is designed with a welcoming public frontage consisting of our “front porch” chill-out lounge, unStable bar, and events area. They face the street and provide a place for friends and passersby to stop and interact with our camp. This is where we hold our camp activities and contribute to the fabric of Black Rock City.
Behind these public-facing areas is the clearly defined private area of our camp reserved for campmates. In this area we have a covered camp kitchen, covered dining room, covered tent zone, camp shower, and car and RV parking. For the safety and comfort of our campmates, non-campmates are allowed in this area by invitation only and must be accompanied by a campmate. We are responsible for the behaviour of any guests that we invite into this area.
Our camp kitchen is fully equipped to support our shared meals. It includes a three-burner stove, griddle, deep fryer, fridge/freezer for shared dinner items, pots/pans, cooking utensils, food serving containers, and dishwashing station.
Our dining room has tables and seating for all campmates and serves as the gathering place for our daily family dinners – a cornerstone of our camp culture.
Our camp common areas and sound system are powered by solar-powered generators. We are also able to supply power to those in tents.
Our camp shower is fully enclosed for privacy and to prevent grey water from splashing onto the playa. For more information, please see shower information
